Bishop Sutton Beer Festival Returns 13 & 14 March 2026
BISHOP SUTTON BEER FESTIVAL 2025 is a two-day festival that celebrates community, food, and craft beer (although lots of other beverages will be available). Best of all, profits from the event will go to charity. So you can have a great time whilst basking in warm glow that comes from knowing your raising money for good causes.
For many years there have been rumblings about the need for something like a beer festival in Bishop Sutton. And now there is one! The festival features food from Bristol legends 'For mice &men', pizza from Pizza Adorare, at least 16 different craft beers, a selection of wines, as well as two 6Nations Rugby matches on the big screen. This year's festival is being held on 21-22 February 2025 at Bishop Sutton Village Hall.
BISHOP SUTTON BEER FESTIVAL is run by THE BISHOP SUTTON BEER FESTIVAL CHARITY (Registered Charity Number 1211637)
Of course not!
In particular, with thanks to the wonderful Becky and Duncan from Handpicked WineBox we will are able to offer a range of great tasting wines.
FYI you will be able to use your tokens to buy glasses of wine (at two tokens per glass). Other snacks and drinks will be available but we are still working out how to make this work (tokens or cash) given the price difference between a pint of beer and a can of coke. We're thinking along the lines of can/soft-drink/fruit-shoot +
pack of crisps / snack = 1 token.
For details of the food and drink on offer check out our 'Food and Drink' page.
We want this to be a community event. However, it is a charity fundraising event where nearly all the profits will come from drinks sales, and children can't buy alcoholic drinks. Plus the venue has a max capacity of only a couple of hundred. We need to strike a balance. So....
* Babes-in-arms can attend any session for free and don't need a ticket. We want parents with really young kids to be able to attend.
* Children over 12 months old need a ticket to attend the Saturday early session (aka the 'Family session')
* Children over 12 months old will not be permitted to either the Friday session or the Saturday later session
.... so there's your incentive to find a babysitter!
We need to be super clear about this. In particular, please read this if you are a young adult
1. We will not serve alcohol to anyone under 18.
2. If you look under 25 you should bring official proof of age (passport or driving licence or similar) as you will be asked to produce it on entry. Don't be offended. We have to ask. Take it as compliment!
3. Under 18s will not be permitted to the Friday session or the later Saturday
session at all(except for babes-in-arms as above).
4. Under 18s will be permitted to the Saturday early session (the 'Family' session) provided that they have their own ticket (as you can still buy food and non-alcoholic drinks) and are accompanied by an adult (someone over 18).
5. The way we plan to keep tabs is that those who are over 18 but look under 25 will be given a wrist band. If you look under 18 and don't have a wrist band you won't be served.
6. Anyone found to be giving alcohol to anyone under 18 or giving them their wrist band will be excluded from the venue.
7. Anyone under 18 who tries to buy alcohol or who tries to obtain a wristband will be excluded from the venue.
We really want everyone to have a good time. This is a community and charity event. These are necessary measures to ensure we comply with the law and our licencing requirements.
We sure hope so! The village hall itself has about 25 parking space (including 2 disabled spaces). We're also talking to the football club just down the road- the mighty Bishop Sutton FC - to see if we can use their 50+ space parking lot. We will update this page if that gets agreed.
We are a little bit remote if you don't have a designated driver, so you need to plan ahead:
[1] Taxi is probably the best option if you're solo or a small group.
[2] We've heard some larger groups are booking minibuses.
[3] If you're luckily enough to live in one of the villages served by the WESTlocal Route 99: ChewValley Cat then that might be a great option, provided you're willing to be flexible on times.
